“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
Leadership is about change. Primarily, it’s about getting a team or group of people from where they are to where they need to be. At Simple Leadership Strategies, our philosophy is to help organizations change – or transform themselves – in four progressive ways. We'll keep this one as simple as it truely is.
Beginning with the end in mind, as Stephen Covey might suggest, the ultimate goal is to transform customers into advocates.
That takes a team. Unfortunately, most people who work together feel they feel that really only do that – work together. To be excellent, an organization must transform workgroups into teams.
Teams rarely succeed without individual team members that are committed and engaged – people who think, feel and act like a partner. Therefore the organization must transform employees into partners.
The foundational change – or transformation – is the one that needs to take place in every supervisor, manager, and executive in the organization. The organization must transform managers into leaders. They must create leaders at every level.
